History

 

 

1 9 8 3

Aqua Science, Inc. is founded. Operations begin in a warehouse on the south side of Columbus. The first mix tank is a 200-gallon steel cauldron with gravity-filled containers. The initial customer base consists of a few small boiler accounts. A detactification solution for water-washing paint booths is the primary product.
   

1 9 8 4

A warehouse in Columbus’s South Linden area is renovated for the relocation of offices, warehouse, laboratory, and manufacturing to one central site. A support staff is added, including a chemist and a full-time bookkeeper.
   

1 9 8 5 - 1 9 8 6

The first full-time sales/service representative exclusively dedicated to water treatment products is hired. A Northern Ohio office is opened, servicing primarily the Youngstown, Akron, and Warren areas. The laboratory is updated with specialized instrumentation. A small packaging line is installed.
   

1 9 8 7 - 1 9 8 8

Further updates include a blending plant. An unique, all-in-one cooling water treatment with enhanced control of biological fouling is developed. Aqua Science, Inc. begins providing products and services to the Municipal Electric and Trash-Burning Power Plants.
   

1 9 8 9

The sales force and service area is expanded due to positive customer response and a sustained increase in revenue. A mini-bulk delivery and containment system is developed. 

   

1 9 9 0

Aqua Science, Inc. acquires American Water Science, Inc., a Cleveland firm established in 1908. The AWS sales force is maintained, but its offices, distribution, and manufacturing assets are moved to Aqua Science headquarters in Columbus. 
   

1 9 9 1

Aqua Science, Inc. teams up with Associated Laboratories, Inc., a group of over twenty members worldwide, working together to provide for research and development, shared technology, increased purchasing power, and nationwide account management.
   

1 9 9 2

A five-acre site on the northeast side of Columbus is purchased for a future move. This location has three buildings with under-roof space in excess of 40,000 square feet and is just minutes from several major highways and the airport. Due to the increasing number of sales personnel, additional support staff is hired, including a technical director and a sales manager. 
    

1 9 9 3 - 1 9 9 4

Renovation of proposed corporate headquarters, laboratory, manufacturing, and distribution facilities begins. Blending equipment is updated to an automated system. Additional personnel join the sales force. A plan for a single source for all phases of water treatment is developed.
    

1 9 9 5

An automation specialist is brought in to handle interactive controller issues. A graphic designer and a word processor are hired to generate forms, brochures, and proposals.

 

1 9 9 6

A new computer systems specialist helps Aqua Science, Inc. set up its very own website, www.aquascience.com. A small, independent water treatment company is acquired to add to the existing service area and account base. A partnership agreement is reached with Culligan Water Systems, Inc. to implement a single-source water treatment concept.
       

1 9 9 7 - 1 9 9 9

Aqua Science, Inc. stays abreast of current technology by updating its laboratory equipment and refining the Aquatrac line of controllers. ISO 9000 quality certification proceedings are initiated. Plant facilities are expanded with a 5,000 square foot addition. Several promotional events are held, including invitational golf tournaments. Showings at expositions such as the Great Lakes Industrial Show further stake a claim for Aqua Science, Inc. as a premiere, full-service water treatment company. Steps are taken to update resources and prepare for the impact of Y2K.

The Y2K hurdle is made with ease. New computer software is implemented, and renovations are made to the shipping facility. Aqua Science, Inc. uses skill and determination to continue improving its operations from top to bottom.

    

2 0 0 1

Aqua Science, LLC acquires theHVC Water Treatment Division, adding personnel and expanding to serve customers in the Cincinnati and Indianapolis regions. High-volume printing capability is added. Aqua Science, Inc. hosts the Autumn 2001 Associated Laboratories Meeting in Columbus, Ohio.

The company website is updated with additional content, including a way to access testing information online.

 

2 0 0 3

Aqua Science, Inc. celebrates twenty years in the water treatment industry. An improved accounting and product information system is implemented.

 

2 0 0 4 - present

The sales force and product line are expanded to meet the growing needs of our customers.
